Climate crisis

What We Stand For

Phased elimination of fossil fuel usage:
There is no sustainable future which involves any level of fossil fuel usage. We will work with others to demand the phased elimination of fossil fuel usage by soonest possible date, and the simultaneous expansion of networks of renewable energy solutions across Britain.

Rewilding and restoration of nature:
For too long the natural habitats of Britain have been destroyed in the interests of the accumulation of profit. We call for the rewilding of large areas of Britain and a complete reworking of how we live in a sustainable balance with the natural world.

Poorest in society are not the ones who should pay:
It is the richest people and companies in society who have caused the vast majority of human made climate change and it is those same people who should pay the bill. If society wants people to use cars less for instance they first we need to massively expand and improve public transport!
We call for no jobs to be lost due to the transition to a sustainable future, instead free retraining in jobs of worker’s choice should be given.

Devolved power and resources:
As we have called for elsewhere we call for the establishment of neighbourhood committee to manage the transition to a sustainable future with power and resources devolved to these committees to do so.
