We need to work together to create community wealth and revitalise our neighbourhoods!
Better community facilities:
We call for the creation, full funding and expansion where already present of libraries, community centres, youth centres and communal gardens. We also call for the better maintenance and funding of parks and existing communal areas.
More community events:
We believe the best way to help communities to better connect with each other and improve community cohesion, is to empower those communities to come together and spend time with each other, without needing to worry about being able to afford to do so. As such we want to see the creation of publicly owned, and community led and managed, community events organisations to arrange community events across their areas.
Community renewable energy:
We want to see the creation, under the management and ownership of the communities which will use it, of a network of renewable energy infrastructure across Stockport and Britain. This will provide cheaper clean energy to the people and protect our environment for future generations.
