Workers rights and civil rights are a necessity to protect us all from abuse and tyranny not a burden to be opposed!
Workers rights:
Workplaces in Stockport, and Britain as a whole, need much improvement. We call for the minimum wage to be increased to at least £16/hour for everyone aged 18+.
We demand full illness, bereavement and parental leave pay from day one, and at least 7 weeks holiday a year for all workers.
We will work with others to demand the repeal of all anti worker and anti trade union laws and the expansion of pension schemes, workers rights and trade union rights to all. We call for the end of the practise of fire and rehire as well.
We call for the full abolition of zero hour contracts, while maintaining the option of flexible hours for those workers who want them.
We call for the implementation of a 4-day working week.
Civil rights:
We demand the repeal of all anti protest laws, the right to protest must be a fundamental part of any true democracy. We call for the expansion of legal aid for all those who need to interact with the justice system but can’t afford legal services. We call for fairer and more comprehensive privacy and data protection laws. All people must have the absolute right to control any and all data about themselves and prevent any person, institution, company or organisation from using it without their express permission. We call for the right to vote to be expanded to any and all people residing in Britain aged 16 and above.
